Along the central coast of Florida comes a fresh wave, one that passionately transcends boundaries,
transporting listeners to the heart of what makes music timeless. A blank canvas, a novel yet written, a portrait only bound by unencumbered imagination, ARIELLA is an esoteric embodiment of sensory
enlightenment, that an evening of music can be composed of Jazz, Blues, Bossa, Samba, Tango, Theater, Rock, Soul, and so much more, when the core of the music is love.
With elegant vocals by the charismatic Ariella McManus, a singer with emotional depth and a songwriter rich with breadth, she eloquently combines stunning melodies with transcendent grooves to create an immersive embrace. Teamed with guitar maestro, Nicolaas Kraster, a talented composer and performer from Fredonia, NY, that’s been compared to Roy Buchanan, Paco de Lucía and Al DeMeola, the pair effortlessly craft an engaging path to the spiritual promised land.
Kraster elaborates, “We play passionate music with intimate and honest lyrics that express vulnerability, our love of music and our love of eachother. Our mission is to share our story through the songs we’ve written and the covers we’ve re-imagined.”
An adventure in living. In the moment. In unity. In totality. Flush with poetic imagery and musical intimacy, ARIELLA’s recent releases, “Joy,” “Terrified,” and Live at the Hideaway Café, are great examples of their sonic vision, one with increasing definition of the human condition. With apt comparisons to the transcendent fragility of Etta James, Patsy Cline and Amy Winehouse, tenured jazz critic, Jonathan Widran, dubbed their repertoire, “Raw and soulful…beautifully combining a sense of defiant assertiveness and wounded vulnerability” while Skope Magazine lauds McManus, “By going for her own unique style, she is without peer. Everything about her delivery reflects a sense of true care and compassion.”
It’s a truly sublime foundation to build a brave new world upon. With collaborations on the horizon with bass extraordinaire Victor Wooten, of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, and award-winning engineer, Fabrice Dupont (“Fabulous Fab”), known for his work with Shakira, Les Nubians, Bebel Gilberto, and Ladysmith Black Mambazo, ARIELLA will continue to pave a way forward, one of light, and the beauty of life, where great music isn’t read from a script but is real life transcribed into a vibe, one that resonates deep inside, a celebration for what it means to be alive.
